The Myrtle Beach Mall looks to be getting a major upgrade, thanks to a proposed plan to add a “lifestyle component.”

Named “The District,” the plan proposes adding waterfront opportunities in a restaurant district along the Intracoastal Waterway as well as new entertainment and shopping to the existing anchor stores and movie theater.

Proposal renderings show a restaurant area accessible to boats with upgraded outdoor features like palm trees and a lighthouse.

The developers hope if the proposal is accepted, “The District” will be a place for visitors and locals to enjoy day and night.
